Percy Schmeiser vs Monsanto

The Classic David vs Goliath Struggle
.
Now I have been following this Gentlemans story for a looong time now, and it never ceases to amaze me the wealth of knowledge and experience in our more mature Generations out there, and the total lack and ability of the Western Governments to detach themselves from the long Corporate arms, and just listen to some Real Plain Simple Common Sense...
.
But sad to say, it has become very apparent now, that until things are at their worst, nothing seems to get done. And its probably down to the experience of people like Percy, that in the long term, will inevitablly end up being the Saviours of the Day. You see, Companies Dont Care, People Do!!!...
.
And so, If you care about your Food, and your Family, I beg you to listen to Percy on Guns and Butter Radio. Probably one of the best interviews done with him, covering just about all the aspects of his case. I just wish my UK Government would get off their buts and listen to him also...

"Percy Schmeiser was mad as hell, and decided he wasn't going to take it.
Schmeiser has been growing canola -- the yellow-blossomed oilseed that used to be known as rapeseed -- for 40 years, and he knows his stuff. He's been experimenting, developing his own varieties, using his own seed and generally prospering with canola. reaping the benefits derived from growing an increasingly popular crop.

So when Monsanto, the giant multinational agro-chemical company that is at the forefront of developing genetically modified foods, accused him of patent infringement and demanded restitution for its seeds, his pride was hurt. He chose to fight rather than roll over and take it."

GM crop trial locations may be hidden from public

Genetically modified crops may be grown in hidden locations in Britain amid fears that anti-GM campaigners are winning the battle over the controversial technology, the Guardian has learned.

Officials at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) confirmed they are looking at a range of options to clamp down on vandalism to GM crop trials, after intense lobbying by big crop biotech companies. The firms have warned that trials of GM crops are becoming too expensive to conduct in Britain because of the additional costs of protecting fields from activists.

The truth is the Government are just totally and utterlly incapable of making an informed decision anymore. And it is a total waste of time me trying to convince all of you cause who am i, right!

Well, when someone like Percy talks, with three generations of farming behind them, and we STILL FAIL to hear his words of wisdom, then either we deserve what we get, or it proves conclusivelly the Government to be in-capable...

But the UK public are not ready for pro active approaches yet. But they soon will be. Real soon...

first the economy must flush

Consequences of GM Crop Contamination ‘Are Set to Worsen’

The consequences of contamination between GM crops and non-GM varieties will be much more serious with the next generation of GM crops, an influential group of US scientists has warned.

Mixing between GM and non-GM varieties has already caused serious economic losses for producers in lost sales and exports. But the consequences of mixing will be much more serious with new crops that are altered to produce pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals, the scientists argue. The crops could harm human health and be toxic to wild animals.

“What would be the impact societally, economically if for example, cornflakes were contaminated by some sort of drug or chemical? I think it would be a vast impact economically,” said Karen Perry Stillerman, senior food and environment programme analyst with the Union of Concerned Scientists.

Consequences of GM Crop Contamination ‘Are Set to Worsen’

Well, I have become so dispondant and am starting to really 'not give a damd' as I along with many have known all this for years now, but there just isnt a way in british politics to be fairlly heard...

And yes, occasionally idiots like Meee! do go over-board, over-emphasise, and say uncomfortable things...

But LooK now, LooK, the GM is still being considered, never mind being promoted, its a dominant gene with a kill switch and de-sterilisation gene built in, sperm count and ovary counts are going down in western soceities, and now there is suspicion that GM crop damages immune systems AND causes internal organ failure or mis-function (still unproved i thinks?)

I mean, what more do people want, do i need to spell it out, no!, you really dont need me, please, just use your intuition and common sense. Vrickey, if anything, think of your families next time you are feeding them...

huuuu, again, i say this with no strength whatsoever, i have kinda given up caring here because there is no way to be heard...

And Percy, with all his experience should become an Ambassador, not a bloody shooting target for Monsanto...

These reports now tell us NOTHING that Percy wasnt saying sooo many years ago now. Maybe its cause hes not a Celebrity or a Footballer or a Lord or a, well, whatever, cause whatever it is, he obviouslly isnt!!!

WHAT IS THE POINT OF A COMPANY LIKE MONSANTO?

As many of you who read Rumor Mill regularly know; my focus has been primarily on Morgellons. If you think that Monsanto is not somehow affiliated with the topic of Morgellons you would be sorely mistaken. One of those affected by Morgellons was contacted by someone who said he was a reporter. The Morgie than took all the information that he had gathered and halfway through the interview realized he was speaking to someone not from a news source but from a biotech company; all the information he had taken was than swept up and sucked into another dark hole.

Are you prepared to trust Monsanto with our future?

Monsanto U: Agribusiness's Takeover of Public Schools

By Nancy Scola, AlterNet. Posted February 15, 2008.

Thanks to Bush's new cuts on public funding for land-grant schools, agribusiness is gaining a huge foothold in the future of our food.

I've startled a bug scientist. "Yeah, now I'm nervous," said Mike Hoffmann, a Cornell University entomologist and crop specialist who spends his days with cucumber beetles and small wasps. But he's also in charge of keeping the research funding flowing at Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. What have I done to alarm him? I've drawn his attention to the newly released FY 2009 Presidential Budget.

WHAT IS THE POINT OF A COMPANY LIKE MONSANTO?

And dont Forget, NEW LABOUR are still considering further tests into GM crops, but fail to aknowledge people like Percy...

You see, your government only wants to hear what supports their agenda. Sorry, but thats the way it is...

Health Hazards of Genetically
Engineered Foods

This article discusses the potential health risks of genetically engineered foods (GMOs). It draws on some previously used material because its importance bears repeating. It also cites three notable books and highlights one in particular - Jeffrey Smith's "Genetic Roulette: The Documented Health Risks of Genetically Engineered Foods." Detailed information from the book is featured below.

Genetically engineered foods saturate our diet today. In the US alone, over 80% of all processed foods contain them. Others include grains like rice, corn and wheat; legumes like soybeans and soy products; vegetable oils, soft drinks; salad dressings; vegetables and fruits; dairy products including eggs; meat, chicken, pork and other animal products; and even infant formula plus a vast array of hidden additives and ingredients in processed foods (like in tomato sauce, ice cream, margarine and peanut butter). Consumers don't know what they're eating because labeling is prohibited, yet the danger is clear. Independently conducted studies show the more of these foods we eat, the greater the potential harm to our health.

'Frankenfoods' Giant Monsanto Plays Bully Over Consumer Labeling

"There are some corporations that clearly are operating at a level that are disastrous for the general public … And in fact I suppose one could argue that in many respects a corporation of that sort is the prototypical psychopath, at the corporate level instead of the individual level."
--Dr. Robert Hare, The Corporation

Since 1901, Monsanto has brought us Agent Orange, PCBs, Terminator seeds and recombined milk, among other infamous products. But it's currently obsessed with the milk, or, more importantly, the milk labels, particularly those that read "rBST-free" or "rBGH-free." It's not the "BST" or "BGH" that bothers them so much; after all, bovine somatrophin, also known as bovine growth hormone, isn't exactly what the company is known for. Which is to say, it's naturally occurring. No, the problem is the "r" denoting "recombined." There's nothing natural about it. In fact, the science is increasingly pointing to the possibility that recombined milk is -- surprise! -- not as good for you as the real thing.

amazing isnt it, how the rights and voices of the normal people have been totally ignored. totally. And these Corporates quite literally have lost all love for their population.

The Monstrous Monsanto Universe

The charge sheet is horrifying, inexorable and convincing. The multinational firm Monsanto, which sells 90 percent of genetically modified organisms (GMO), massively lies to many people and even the whole planet with great success - the power that money and the - apparently unlimited - support of the United States government bestows. You already know all that if you watched Marie-Monique Robin's extraordinary documentary, "Le Monde selon Monsanto" ["The World According to Monsanto"], March 11 on the Arte channel.

The case is conducted as a personal investigation, and the director has herself filmed as she plays her computer keys to research, most often through Google, the information accessible to everyone, as long as one is willing to try to separate the wheat from the chaff in the mass of available documents. And there's an abundance of chaff, given how the company has proliferated effective advertising (intended for farmers in every country and in every language) and dubious scientific studies over the years.

U.S. organic food industry fears GMO contamination

Widespread contamination of U.S. corn, soybeans and other crops by genetically engineered varieties is threatening the purity of organic and natural food products and driving purveyors of such specialty products to new efforts to protect their markets, industry leaders said this week.

A range of players, from dairy farmers to natural food retailers, are behind an effort to introduce testing requirements and standards for certification aimed at keeping contamination at bay. That goal is rapidly becoming harder, however, as planting of biotech corn, soybeans, and other crops expands across the United States.

Kissinger’s 1974 plan for food control genocide

On Dec. 10, 1974, the U.S. National Security Council under Henry Kissinger completed a classified 200-page study, “National Security Study Memorandum 200: Implications of Worldwide Population Growth for U.S. Security and Overseas Interests.” The study falsely claimed that population growth in the so-called Lesser Developed Countries (LDCs) was a grave threat to U.S. national security. Adopted as official policy in November 1975 by President Gerald Ford, NSSM 200 outlined a covert plan to reduce population growth in those countries through birth control, and also, implicitly, war and famine. Brent Scowcroft, who had by then replaced Kissinger as national security adviser (the same post Scowcroft was to hold in the Bush administration), was put in charge of implementing the plan. CIA Director George Bush was ordered to assist Scowcroft, as were the secretaries of state, treasury, defense, and agriculture.
